HalalPot is a non-custodial software platform. We do not hold, store, transfer, custody or process member funds at any point. All payments between members are made directly via the members' own bank accounts.
What this means in practice: when it's your turn to pay, you make a normal bank transfer from your bank to another member's bank, using the reference HalalPot generates. We never see, touch or move your money. We only record that the payment was made and confirm with the recipient that it arrived.
HalalPot ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform. We take your trust seriously.
When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number (for SMS reminders), and any other information you choose to provide.
Before you can join a circle, we verify your identity. This may include government-issued ID and a selfie. KYC documents are processed by our verification provider and stored only as long as required for legal and fraud-prevention purposes.
We record which circles you belong to, your assigned slot, the contributions you have marked as paid, and the contributions other members have confirmed receiving from you. We do not collect or store your bank account details — payments happen entirely outside our system.
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, and actions taken. Used to improve the product and detect fraud.
Your verified name, your slot number, your contribution status (paid / pending / confirmed) and your trust score are visible to other members of any circle you belong to. This transparency is fundamental to how the model works — the others need to know who's in the circle and whether you've kept up with the schedule.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data with our identity-verification provider (for KYC) and with our email/SMS providers (to send reminders) — only the minimum required to deliver each function.
We may disclose information if required by law (UK court order, valid HMRC or police request) or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure session management, and regular security assessments.
